Paul Thomson | Co-Founder and Executive Director

Paul learned about pangolins in 2007 and has been obsessed ever since. As Executive Director and Co-Founder, Paul oversees strategy and operations of Save Pangolins. In addition, Paul is a director at the Wildlife Conservation Network, where he helped create the Pangolin Crisis Fund and the Lion Recovery Fund, among other programs. Paul is an alum of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders program and now serves on the board. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his canine sidekick, Timber.

Keri Parker | Co-Founder

Keri Parker co-founded Save Pangolins in 2008 and served as Chief Conservation Officer through 2021. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the IUCN SSC Pangolin Specialist Group, where she provides interdisciplinary leadership to the organized-global pangolin conservation community (www.PangolinSG.org). A systems thinker and multifaceted wildlife biologist, she develops and leads initiatives to fill critical gaps in global pangolin conservation and create the conditions necessary for collaborations to succeed. She invests particular emphasis in supporting and encouraging conservationists within the countries where pangolins occur, and fostering peaceful collaboration between diverse stakeholders.

Carly Thompson | Programs Coordinator

Carly has had a passion for environmental protection her entire life. She joined the Save Pangolins team in 2019, eager to make a difference for the world’s most trafficked mammal and has supported its strategic growth and programmatic expansion up to the present. Pre-covid, she volunteered at CuriOdyssey Museum and Zoo helping to educate visitors about the rescued wildlife. During the pandemic, she volunteered for conservation organizations including Project Mecistops and the IUCN SSC Pangolin Specialist Group. In the past two years, she has completed coursework towards a Conservation and Resource Management certificate at Merritt College and joined the team at Wildlife Conservation Network as Office Manager.

Randy Mazzuca | Social Media Manager

Randy has been under the wildlife conservation umbrella for the last ten years plus. He got his start as Program Assistant at Wildlife Conservation Network for three years, and has been rubbing elbows with the giants of the conservation world ever since. His experience helped him land his current position as the social media manager of Save Pangolins and the World Pangolin Day platform. During the day, Randy is a full time Interpretive Ambassador at San Francisco Zoo, where he has worked for the past four plus years. It is his life’s mission to not just feed people the doom and gloom of the pangolin world but also to spotlight what we love about this charming little walking pinecone.
